Data controller

What data we process and why

We only process personal data when you provide it voluntarily through the contact form:

• Name, email, subject and message, to reply to your enquiry. The legal basis is your consent when you submit the form.
• We keep this data for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting relationship, and delete it when it is no longer needed or when you ask us to.
• We do not share your data with third parties or use it to send you advertising.

Cookieless audience measurement

To understand which content is useful we count, in aggregate, page views, WhatsApp clicks, clicks to xavipascual.com articles and form submissions, together with the page language and the type of traffic source (for example, search engine or direct visit).

These counters do not use cookies or identifiers, do not store your IP address and cannot identify you or follow you across pages or sites. They are based on our legitimate interest in improving the site.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours temporarily records the IP address, date, requested page and browser of each request. We use these logs exclusively for security and to keep the service running (for example, to detect attacks), and they are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Cookies

This site only uses technical cookies, which do not require consent:

• NEXT_LOCALE: remembers the language you chose (duration: 1 year).
• Admin session: only created for administrators who sign in to the internal panel (duration: 8 hours).
• Your browser also stores your light or dark theme preference locally; this information is not sent to our server.

Third-party services

Some elements are loaded from external services, which receive your IP address when displaying them:

• Maps: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap.
• Videos: YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
• WhatsApp: if you tap a WhatsApp button you move to a Meta service, subject to its own privacy policy.
• Links to xavipascual.com, bechallenge.io or other sites take you to sites with their own policies.

Hosting and security

The site and its database are hosted on Clouding.io servers in Spain (European Union). We apply security measures such as HTTPS encryption, a firewall, key-only access and daily backups stored on the server itself.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability at any time, and withdraw your consent, by writing through the channels listed under data controller.

If you believe the processing does not comply with the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or the supervisory authority in your country.
